The federal government has introduced a bill that would dramatically expand access to euthanasia, remove important safeguards and allow people to be euthanized when they are unable to consent.
Although work on Bill C-7, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (medical assistance in dying), has stalled during the COVID-19 lockdown, many observers expect this legislation will move quickly once parliament resumes regular business.
